Registered Nurse - Transplant Coordinator

In the Transplant Coordinator position, the Registered Nurse coordinates all aspects of renal and pancreas transplants, as well as providing support to the department in the day to day functioning of the transplant section.

The Registered Nurse serves as the case manager, following all patients from initial referral, through the transplant process, and during the transition back to the referring physician.

The Transplant Coordinator position requires an understanding of the complexity of the illnesses manifested by patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) along with the risk factors involved and the diagnostic and treatment options available. The Transplant Coordinator is familiar with the intricacies of organ allocation and is able to explain this to patients.


  • Current Washington state licensure as an RN.
  • CPR certification is required every two years
  • Bachelors of Science of Nursing
  • Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records.


  • Experience managing complex patients or patients with chronic disease in an ambulatory setting.
  • Certification in Specialty area such as: American Academy of Ambulatory Nursing in Certification in Care Coordination and Transition Management (CCCTM), or Oncology Nursing Society Provider Card for Chemotherapy/Biotherapy: Fundamentals of Administration
