Registered Nurse (RN) - Donor Transplant Coordinator

Virginia Mason is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Living Donor Transplant Coordinator position. As the living donor coordinator, the Registered Nurse oversees the coordination of care for living donors, starting at the initial intake, through the evaluation process, surgery, and follow-up care. The living donor coordinator supports the transplant team by educating prospective donors about the living donation process. Coordinators also help care for donors throughout the donation process.


  • Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington required.
  • BSN preferred
  • In-depth understanding of the complexity of the illnesses manifested by patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD), along with the risk factors involved and the diagnostic and treatment options available, required.
  • Also required are: thorough understanding of the nationwide system of organ procurement and distribution; knowledge of the procedures for activating patients in the national registry and accepting organs; understanding of the intricacies of organ allocation, and the ability to explain this to patients.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
