Renal Care of Rockland is seeking NYS Registered Nurse to work in two of our locations:

Valley Cottage, NY & Suffern, NY

  • The RN must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The individual must possess and maintain a current license in the State of New York as a Registered Nurse.  Able to perform all routine and specialized nursing techniques required in a dialysis facility.
  • Maintains current CPR
    Performs in accordance with the established rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the Renal Acute Service and standards of professional nursing practices.
  • Performs professional nursing duties in the care and treatment of the patients with end stage renal disease.
  • Supervises the non-professional staff.
  • Promotes a sense of worth in all personnel by recognition of their individual contributions to the health care team.
  • Maintains competence in the practice of nursing.
  • Recognizes and accepts responsibility for professional judgments and actions.
  • Performs in any area necessary to insure optimal patient care at all times
  • Initiates emergency treat under the supervision of the Physicians.
  • Patient records, assessments and treatments:
    1. Accurately assess individual patient needs and assists in devising and reviewing the patient care plans.
    2. Transcribes and implements physician’s orders.
    3. Gives prescribed medication intravenously, intramuscularly, and orally.  Is knowledgeable of side effects of the drugs and records these appropriately.
    4. Observes and evaluates the patients’ response to treatments and medications and records these properly.
    5. Accepts the responsibility to inform the Physician of any significant changes in the patients’ condition or response to therapy.
    6. Schedules patients for their hemodialysis treatment according to their individual need
  • Other Responsibilities:
  1. Participates in in-service programs and staff meetings to maintain a high level of nursing care.
  2. Assists in teaching and instructing new staff members.
  3. Contributes to maintaining a clean and orderly working environment.


  • Graduated from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • 1 year of dialysis experience, preferred
  • Must have 1 year clinical nursing experience
