March Is National Kidney Month

March is National Kidney Month, and March 8 is World Kidney Day. Both events are intended to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease. The theme of World Kidney Day 2018 is “Kidneys & Women’s Health: Include, Value, Empower.” This year, World Kidney Day and International Women’s Day coincide, creating an opportunity to emphasize the importance of women’s health and specifically, their kidney health. On its 13th anniversary, World Kidney Day promotes affordable and equitable access to health education, health care, and prevention for kidney diseases for all women and girls in the world.
