  • ANNA Supports the Living Donor Protection Act of 2017 - ANNA urges Members of Congress to cosponsor the Living Donor Protection Act of 2017 (H.R. 1270) and encourages Senators to support the reintroduction of companion legislation. The bill will protect living organ donors from increases in insurance premiums and will ensure they are provided job security, through FMLA, while taking time to recover. (Posted March 2017)

The bill will reauthorize this important programs that represent a critical investment in the future of the nursing profession as it continues to provide our nation's patients with high-quality health care services.   • ANNA Supports the ESRD Choice Act of 2016 - ANNA urges Members of Congress to cosponsor the Expanding Seniors Receiving Dialysis Choice Act of 2016 (H.R. 5659), which will increase access to high quality care by removing the prohibition on current ESRD patients from enrolling in Medicare Advantage insurance plans.   • ANNA Supports the Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act of 2015 - ANNA urges Members of Congress to cosponsor the Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act of 2015 (H.R. 1342/S. 578), which will confirm Medicare’s recognition of the APRN’s role in home health care and ensure that beneficiaries have timely access to the home health care services they need.   • ANNA Supports the Chronic Kidney Disease Improvement in Research and Treatment Act of 2015 - ANNA urges Congress to support H.R. 1130 and S. 598 to improve federal policy related to caring for individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) by addressing gaps in critical research; improve beneficiary access to treatments for CKD; and create economic stability for providers caring for individuals with CKD.
