On October 31, 2018, the National Consensus Project for Quality Palliative Care released Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care, 4th edition. The guidelines call for a shift in the delivery of palliative care by urging all health care professionals and organizations to integrate this care into services provided to people living with a serious illness.
